National Biogas Programme of Burkina Faso announces the West Africa Biogas Conference
The Second International Conference on Bio-digesters Technology
Burkina Faso, in collaboration with the Africa Biogas Partnership Program (ABPP), organized the first edition of the International Conference on Technology of the Bio-digester of Ouagadougou (CITBIO) from 10 – 12 October 2017 in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
The conference drew representation from 10 countries in West and Central Africa and several sub-regional organizations as well as Technical and Financial Partners Programs. The conference adopted the Ouagadougou Declaration in which the countries committed to establish national programs for the dissemination of bio-digester technology and a regional coordination structure.
To this end, participants requested that the H.E Roch Marc Christian Kaboré, President of Burkina Faso to engage in advocacy work with his peers to enable the establishment of National Programs by the end of December 2019. They also gave a mandate to Burkina Faso to lead the process and organize the 2nd edition to be held from 2-4 October 2018 in Ouagadougou under the theme: The Biodigester a solution for food security and energy in Africa.
