ABPP 2011 Annual Report

Although by the end of 2011, ABPP had managed to achieve only 14% (11, 187 biogas digesters) of its overall 5-year numerical target (70,500), the programme realized 129% growth compared to what was achieved in 2010. This helped in maintaining the growth trend:
2008: 96
2009: 183
2010: 3,311
2011: 7,597

Kenya still remained the best performing country having constracted 3,240 boigas digesters by the end of the year. It was followed by Tanzania (2,568), Ethiopia (2,502), Uganda (1,901), Burkina Faso (721) then Senegal (255).

Overall cost of a digester showed a declining trend:
2009: €2,965
2010: €1,935
2011: €1,312

The case was the same for all the countries:
Burkina Faso: 2009 (€56,800), 2010 (€4,494) and 2011(€1,656)
Ethiopia: 2009 (€41,176), 2010 (€2,157) and 2011 (€1,116)
Kenya: 2009 (€32,272), 2010 (€1,535) and 2011 (€1,140)
Senegal: 2010 (€37,904) and 2011 (€4,169)
Tanzania: 2009 (€4,057), 2010 (€1,389) and 2011 (€1,328)
Uganda: 2009 (€4,057), 2010 (€1,870) and 2011 (€1,204)

The above trend clearly shows some signs of an emergence of a sector. More details about the performance of 2011 is found in the Annual Report herein attached.[Download not found]
